Snitch

It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. ~Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

I am in full Harry Potter premiere prep mode.

The realization is beginning to sink in.

The final chapter in the seven-book, eight-movie saga that has captivated me since Page 1 is about to come to its heart-stopping conclusion...

...in a mere 26 days.

So, as this process begins for me, I can warn you to begin to expect Harry Potter posts to start popping up on my blog a bit more frequently.

It's my own grieving process.

My own personal way of coming to the end.

Forgive me.

Today, I ordered my premiere jewelry.

A beautiful Golden Snitch necklace, adorned with a ruby crystal to signify my allegiance to my Gryffindor house...

...as well as a small pair of silver Hedwig earrings to go along with the other owl necklace that I will also be wearing.

As I sat there, going over the lovely list of Harry Potter jewelry items available for me on Etsy, I slowly began to contemplate why I had chosen the Snitch to adorn my neck on that amazingly monumental night.

The Snitch signifies something amazing.

It brought us Harry's first magical triumph...his first Quidditch game.

And it was the final gift bestowed upon him by Albus Dumbledore...and the key to finding the final Horcruxes and defeating Voldemort forever.

The Snitch is a powerful thing...

...and yet, it is so very small.

It is tiny and delicate with the most wispy and fragile of wings.

And yet, in a Quidditch match, as well as in the life of Harry and his closest companions...

...its value is priceless.

The same goes for me.

I am small -- seemingly insignificant at first glance.

But in the great scheme of things,

I have a mighty purpose.

In the hand of the Greatest King...

...I am precious beyond compare.

I am

and will always be

a Snitch.

I open at the close.

I am a HP rabid fan. SERIOUSLY. I LOVE THIS POST. Your wording is always so interesting, and this one especially caught my attention. I am SO VERY excited for the conclusion to the movie series, although I know it won't quite be as amazing as the book, and I am still quite sad that this is the very last one.
But I still cannot wait. ^-^

I wish I had something that nice. All I have is my wizards hat and a Slytherin scarf. I can't wear the scarf cause well...I live in Florida and I don't want to pass out from heat. xD

Anyway, keep the HP posts coming!!!!!!!

I look at you and see all the ways a soul can bruise, and I wish I could sink my hands into your flesh and light lanterns along your spine so you know there's nothing but light when I see you. :: Shinji Moon
