Honeybee

Backyard of butterflies surrounded me
I fell in love with you like bees to honey
Let's up and leave the weeping to the willow tree
And pour our tears in the sea ~Owl City, Honey and the Bee

Today, I made my first complete album purchase in I don't know how long.

It was $11.99.

And it was the best $11.99 I've ever spent.

I will say this without a shred of regret: All Things Bright & Beautiful is the best thing I've purchased this entire year.

My mood is brightened.

My heart is lifted.

And it's currently on continual repeat on my iTunes.

Anyone who knows me well knows that music is intrinsic to my state of mind and heart.

I can be having a truly horrible day, or be completely uninspired...

...all it takes is some Owl City and a drive down the road in my car with the widows rolled down to bring my mood back up from the ground and make me fly again.

I think it's because Adam Young pours his heart, his soul, and his entire faith in Jesus Christ into every note he composes and every word-combination he invents.

It shows...

...because I can feel it with every caressing refrain.

And now...

...I feel like a honeybee in love.

I can't stop listening to this album.

I think I'm gushing. Maybe just a little.

I never do this on my blog. Not ever. I tend to keep it product-placement-free.

...yes, I'm definitely gushing.

Colour me obsessed.

Colour me delighted.

If the green left the grass on the other side
I would make like a tree and leave
But if I reached for your hand, would your eyes get wide
Who knew the other side could be so green
~Owl City, Honey and the Bee

  1. I really love Owl City! I love the songs, the music, the lyrics, and the messages they have in it. I'm looking forward to purchasing the ATBAB album.

I look at you and see all the ways a soul can bruise, and I wish I could sink my hands into your flesh and light lanterns along your spine so you know there's nothing but light when I see you. :: Shinji Moon
